31 October 2011
Baulderstone and the NSW Roads & Traffic Authority (RTA) today announced the finalisation of a $530 million contract for the duplication of the Pacific Highway from Tintenbar to Ewingsdale on New South Wales’ far North Coast.
The design and construction project, jointly-funded by the Federal and NSW Governments, comprises a 16.3km new build upgrade of the Pacific Highway involving twin tunnels under St Helena Ridge, 11 bridges and an upgrade of the Ewingsdale interchange.
Baulderstone General Manager NSW/ACT, Frank Lorenzetto, said the company is pleased to continue working with the NSW RTA by undertaking this significant project.
“Baulderstone has a strong background in delivering a range of major road projects. The Tintenbar to Ewingsdale Upgrade is a strong addition to our infrastructure pipeline and further underpins our position as an industry leader in tunnelling projects.
“Our specialist team will apply Baulderstone’s client-focused approach to this project, which advocates open communication and coordination between all parties to ensure a positive outcome. At Baulderstone, we pride ourselves on our ability to deliver complex and time-critical projects with minimal disruption and within budget, whilst upholding our commitment to safety,” Mr Lorenzetto added.
The project is scheduled to commence in early 2012, with completion in mid-2014.
